Solar Instalation Timeline
The process for going solar takes time but it is worth the wait. First, we schedule a site survey to make sure that your home is ready for solar panels. Next, we design the right solar panel layout that works for you. We then submit a permit to your city. Once approved by the city we work to get an installation date that works for our installers and weather conditions. Interconnection is the final step but can sometimes take the longest. We work with your utility company to get permission to operate the system. Finally, we will walk you through turning on your system over the phone with our customer service team.
We can typically gather all the information we need from the pictures your solar expert takes of your home. When more information is needed, a solar technician will be sent out within a week to make sure your home is eligable for solar panel instalation.
Our team will create a detailed design of your complete solar system which is then approved by an engineer.
The approved design is submitted to your city for a permit to construct the solar system. This part of the process depends on the city and their process and regulations.
Your instalation can take up to two to four days, depending on the solar system size and city inspection regulations. This may be additionally legthened if your solar system requires a ground mount or necessary electrical upgrades.
After instalation, the city must come out to inspect your solar system in order to comfirm the saftey and operation of the system. Our team will reach out to let you know when the city has placed you on their schedual.
Finally, we will submit your system for PTO (Permission to operate) to your utility company. Your utility company will then visit to install a net meter connecting your solar system to the utility grid. The timeline of this process depends on your utility company.
Once we have recieved permission from the utility company to turn your system on, we will give you a call to walk you through turning on your solar system and ensure its operating smoothly. Time to enjoy your solar savings!
